Gente, alguien sabe cuáles son las razones que llevaron a la aparición de las correas Poly V?

Ya sé que combina las ventajas de las tipo "V" y flat, pero a alguien se le ocurre algo más específico?

imaginate el tamaño que tendria que tener una correa sola en V por ej para soportar 3 Hp. por eso se "distribuye" la potencia en varias correas del tipo V
